With 4 ascensions, a scroll, and a weapon I can use Ao Bai to near instant-kill any enemy with concealed ammo's alt-fire, or really any explosive weapon. It's way easier to get a busted build than you think it is. It's also mostly up to chance. I went an entire run without even seeing any elements of the build you mentioned.
Dog is a late game carry that needs time to scale so he's not great at solo runs but with 4 player where he can survive the early game it's easy to have the highest dmg dealt wether you are playing dual weild or grenade build. I would advise to stay away from the grenade build in coop tho, that build doesn't let others have fun.Potentially the strongest flat damage bonus talent.
